A mouse toy with a plain fabric tail gives a cat one texture to grab; adding feathers to that same spot gives them a second one, right where they'd naturally aim.

Marti Mouse contains catnip and crinkle material and has feathers standing in for a tail, weighing 0.08kg. It's part of the same character range as Coolpet's other mouse and animal shapes, with the feathered tail as its distinguishing feature.

• Mouse shape with feathers for a tail

• Sold as a single toy
• Supervised use recommended, with packaging removed before play

On the feathers. Feathers on a tail are a nice extra texture but also the first part likely to come loose under sustained biting — Coolpet don't publish a durability guide, so if feathers separating and being swallowed is a concern, this is one to watch more closely than the plain mouse shapes without them.

Who it's for: cats that specifically like to grab and chew at a toy's tail, and owners happy to supervise a toy with a feathered element attached.
