Full description
A cat tree earns its floor space by giving a cat height, a scratching surface and somewhere to sleep in the footprint of a side table, and that is roughly what this one does. The trunk is wrapped in sisal for scratching, a round platform sits on top for surveying the room, and a clear capsule bed hangs below it, which is where most cats end up once the novelty of the top wears off.
The sisal trunk matters more than the leaves it is dressed as. Cats scratch to strip old claw sheaths and to stretch the whole length of their back, and they want a vertical surface with enough resistance to pull against. Sisal rope provides that and carpet does not, and a cat who cannot get it from a post will take it from the arm of the sofa instead. The column here is replaceable, so a frayed rope does not mean a new tree.
