Cats sleep more soundly with a roof over them, which is why so many end up in a cardboard box beside an expensive open bed. An enclosed cave answers that instinct directly, and this one happens to be shaped like a fat clownfish with its mouth as the doorway. The opening is wide, so a cat can see out and get out quickly, and those two things are what decide whether a nervous cat uses an enclosed bed at all.

Inside, the walls are soft ribbed plush that holds warmth around a curled-up cat. Nothing is heated and nothing is plugged in; the bed simply keeps the cat's own body heat from escaping upward, which is how every so-called self-warming bed works. A pom-pom dangles at the entrance, turning bedtime into a small game and giving an idle cat something to swat at from inside. Two sizes and three colours are offered.

Two things worth knowing. We are given no internal measurements, so before ordering, look at your cat asleep in a loaf and ask whether that footprint would fit; a medium here is still a cat bed rather than a bed for a very large cat, and we will measure one on request. If yours is a cat who eats string, snip the pom-pom off before the bed goes down.
