A good bed lets your pet stretch out and curl up. Measure your pet nose-to-tail while they’re lying down, then add room to move.
How to measure
- Measure your pet from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
- Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.
- For pets that like to curl, you can size down slightly for a snug, den-like feel.

Full description
Most small dogs travel badly for a simple reason: strapped into a footwell or slid across a bench seat, all they can see is upholstery, and a moving world you cannot see is a frightening one. Lifting them to window height changes the journey completely. Animals who whined the whole way to the vet often settle within a mile once the view arrives, and a tether stops that settling turning into wandering.
The construction is a padded box with bolstered sides high enough to lean into, so a dog can brace against a corner rather than brace against nothing at all. The tether clips to a harness, never to a collar, which would turn a sudden stop into a neck injury, and it limits how far they can move without pinning them down. Depending on size the whole thing weighs between 1.5 and 2 kilograms, light enough to lift out one-handed.
