The size of a chew changes who it actually suits far more than its flavour does, which is why the same recipe turns up in more than one shape and size rather than just one.

This Chewllagen donut is the same hydrolysed-collagen recipe as the roll, made from grass-fed cattle hide, baked to a bread-like texture and dipped in real beef, but in a smaller donut shape. The maker describes the collagen as supporting cartilage, joint comfort and gut health, on top of the usual dental benefit that comes from a dog chewing on anything for a while.

• Hydrolysed collagen, from grass-fed cattle hide
• Dipped in real beef
• Smaller donut shape, for a shorter chewing session
• Rawhide-free
• Sold singly

One thing worth knowing. No analytical panel or age guidance accompanies this listing, so there is no protein or fat figure published, and joint and gut-health claims are the manufacturer's own description of collagen rather than a measurement taken on this specific product.

Who it's for: owners after a smaller, quicker chew than the full-size roll, or a dog too small to comfortably manage the larger shape.
