Wrapping one food inside another is a texture trick as much as a flavour one — the outer layer gives a treat some bite before the softer filling underneath.

This is a whole fish wrapped in real chicken, made with chicken, vegetable glycerine, anchovy and potassium sorbate as a preservative. It's a minimum 50% protein and minimum 4% fat, with fibre capped at a maximum 0.1% and moisture at a maximum 13%, working out at 3490 kcal/kg — 7.5 kcal per treat.

• Whole fish wrapped in chicken
• Chicken, vegetable glycerine, anchovy, potassium sorbate
• Protein min 50%, fat min 4%, fibre max 0.1%, moisture max 13%
• 3490 kcal/kg, 7.5 kcal per treat
• No grain, wheat or corn
• 30g bag

On the numbers. These figures are published as minimums and maximums rather than fixed values (min 50% protein, max 0.1% fibre), which is normal for this kind of treat but means the actual figure in any given bag could sit a little either side of what's printed — treat them as a guide to the recipe's shape rather than an exact assay of the bag in front of you.

Who it's for: owners who want a low-calorie treat (7.5 kcal each) with two named proteins rather than one, and who like being able to count calories precisely per treat.
