A working dog doing three hours a day and one doing one hour a day are not eating the same amount by the time the week is out, and a feeding table that only offers a single "active dog" figure is guessing at which one you've got. This recipe gives three tiers instead of one, so the portion follows the actual workload rather than a rough average of it.
