A door handle is already at cat height, already gets walked past a dozen times a day, and already has nothing useful hanging from it — which is most of the case for a scratcher designed to hook onto one instead of taking up floor space.

This is a plush hanging toy that combines a textured scratching pad with a dangling ball for batting, and a hanging tag built in so it can be hung from a door handle or a hook rather than needing space on the floor.

• Plush hanging scratcher toy
• Textured scratcher pad on the body
• Dangling ball attached for batting
• Built-in hanging tag for a door handle or hook

One thing worth knowing. Bestpets do not publish a size or a weight limit for the scratcher pad, so we cannot tell you how much scratching wear it is built to take before the pad wears down — treat it as a supplementary scratcher near a doorway rather than a replacement for a full scratching post.

Who it's for: owners short on floor space who want a scratching option by a door or on a hook, and a cat that enjoys batting at a hanging toy as much as scratching it.
