Full description

Training treats work best when a dog can eat them in one bite without stopping to chew, which is why a soft paste in a tube tends to beat a hard biscuit for anything that needs a fast reward mid-session.

Arden Grange's Tasty Liver Treat is fresh pork (53%) and fresh pork liver (40%), with broth, rapeseed oil and parsley making up the rest. It contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and Arden Grange state it is made in Germany.

75g tube
Fresh pork (53%) and fresh pork liver (40%)
No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives
Protein 15%, fat content 30.6%, crude fibre 1%, crude ash 1.5%
Store in a cool, dry place; refrigerate and use within 10 days once opened

On the fat content. At 30.6%, this is a high-fat treat relative to a complete food, which is normal for a training paste but worth factoring into a dog's daily calorie count if you are using a lot of it during a training session. Arden Grange's own portion guide scales it down to a fraction of the tube per size of dog.

Who it's for: an owner doing frequent training reward sessions who needs something a dog can take quickly, rather than an everyday treat for occasional use.

Arden Grange Tasty Liver Treat

Why we chose it

The short use-by window once opened (10 days, refrigerated) is the tell. It shows this is genuinely made without the preservatives that let most treats sit in a cupboard for months, rather than the claim being a label decoration.
