Full description
Most dog leads are built and rated around an average dog, which is exactly the problem if yours isn't average - a lead that's plenty strong for a 20kg dog can be the weak point in the whole walk for something considerably larger.
Ancol's Super Strong Rope Lead is a chunky 20mm-wide rope, woven in a diamond pattern from long-lasting nylon with leather-effect finishing at the joints, and rated to a maximum recommended weight of 75kg. It measures 1.07m by 20mm, with a durable die-cast trigger hook for attaching to a collar.

On choosing the right lead. The 75kg rating is for this lead specifically, not a general rope-lead figure, and Ancol are explicit that picking the correct lead for your dog's weight matters - a chunkier rope is not a substitute for checking the number against your own dog rather than assuming bigger is always better.
Who it's for: owners of large, strong dogs who want a lead built around that weight from the start, rather than a standard lead that happens to hold up most of the time.

Why we chose it
A 75kg rating is well above what most leads on the shelf will tell you, which matters if you've ever had a lead give way at the worst possible moment. The die-cast trigger hook is the other reason - it's the part that actually takes the strain, not the rope.
