Care: SMALL ANIMAL ACC > SA GROOMING The Just 4 Pets grooming range has all the essential tools pet owners need to keep their pet's coats and claws in great condition
Brand: Ancol

Full description

A small animal's skin is thinner than a dog's or cat's, so a grooming brush that's merely gentle for a Labrador can still be too harsh for a rabbit.

This is a slicker brush from Ancol's Just 4 Pets range, sized for small pets such as rabbits. The pins are thin, to get through the coat and ease out tangles, with rounded ends rather than sharp tips.

Slicker brush sized for small pets (rabbits named specifically)
Thin pins to penetrate the coat and ease tangles
Rounded pin ends for comfort
Removes dirt and loose fur
Supplied in widely-recycled cardboard packaging

On which pets it suits. Ancol name rabbits specifically as the intended use, but give no coat-length guidance or a list of other small animals it's safe for. If you're grooming a guinea pig or a long-haired breed with a very different coat, it's worth checking the pin spacing suits before relying on it as your only brush.

Who it's for: rabbit owners doing routine coat grooming who want a slicker sized to a small animal rather than a shrunk-down dog brush.

Ancol Small Animal Slicker

Why we chose it

A slicker sized and pinned for a rabbit rather than scaled down from a dog brush is a genuinely different tool, which is why it earns a place on the shelf on its own. Rounded pin ends matter more on thin small-animal skin than they would on a dog's coat.
