Full description
A lead earns its keep in the dark as much as daylight, and reflective thread only works if it's woven into the strap rather than stuck on as an afterthought.
This is Ancol's Viva range trigger lead: poly-weave webbing with a reflective weave running through it, finished with leather detailing and a satin-finish snap hook. It's 1.07m long and 12mm wide, rated to a maximum recommended weight of 50kg, and built to handle wet walks and swimming rather than just dry pavements.
- 1.07m long, 12mm wide
- Poly-weave webbing with reflective weave woven through
- Satin-finish snap hook, leather finishings
- Maximum recommended weight 50kg
- Weatherproof, suitable for swimming
- Supplied on widely-recycled packaging
On the fit. Ancol give one maximum weight for this lead — 50kg — but no guidance on what collar or harness width it pairs best with, so if your dog is right at that ceiling it's worth checking your existing collar can take the same load.
Who it's for: owners doing early-morning or evening walks who want the reflective element built into the everyday lead, for dogs up to 50kg.

Why we chose it
The reflective weave is worked into the webbing itself rather than a stitched-on strip that can peel, which is the detail that decides it over a plainer lead at a similar price. Rated to 50kg, it covers everything from a spaniel to a shepherd on the same lead.
