Full description
A small dog walks lower to the ground than a large one, which is exactly where a car's headlights sweep first - low beams pick out ankle height before they pick out anything at head height. A reflective collar sits right in that zone.
This is Ancol's Reflective Bone collar in the small size: a reflective design on a hardwearing nylon base, suitable for all weathers and swimming, with snap-buckle fastening. It fits 20-30cm.
- Reflective design on a hardwearing nylon base
- Fits 20-30cm
- Suitable for all weathers, including swimming
- Snap-buckle fastening, adjustable within the size range
- Matching lead available
On checking the fit. Ancol's instruction is to check the fit of the collar every day for comfort and security, which matters more on a small dog than a large one - there's less room on a 20-30cm collar for a loose setting to go unnoticed before it's genuinely too loose.
Who it's for: owners of small dogs who want visibility built into the collar itself, particularly for early morning or evening walks near traffic.

Why we chose it
Small dogs are the ones most likely to go unnoticed in low light, simply because they're smaller and lower down, so reflective detail matters more here than on a bigger dog's collar. It's also suitable for swimming, which a lot of 'weatherproof' collars quietly aren't.
