Size guide & how to measure
Collars are sized by the neck girth — the measurement around the base of the neck where the collar will sit.
How to measure
- Wrap a soft tape around the base of the neck.
- Add room for two fingers between the tape and the neck.
- Use that measurement to pick a size whose range it falls within.
| Size | Typical neck girth | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 20–28 cm | Toy breeds |
| S | 26–36 cm | Small dogs |
| M | 34–48 cm | Medium dogs |
| L | 46–60 cm | Large dogs |
| XL | 58–72 cm | Giant breeds |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact measurements.
Full description
Some collars are built to be adjusted through a wide range, and some are built as a set of fixed sizes so the fit is exact rather than approximate - this is the second kind.
This is Ancol's Heritage Nylon Collar in raspberry, with heat-sealed buckle holes, a satin-finish buckle and a D-ring for the lead. The size we can confirm is 20-26cm, which fits Size 1 in the range.
- Nylon construction
- Heat-sealed buckle holes
- Satin-finish buckle and D-ring
- Size 1 fits a 20-26cm neck
- Also made in black, blue and red
On sizing: this listing covers a range of sizes beyond the 20-26cm we have exact figures for, but the other sizes' precise neck measurements aren't broken out for us here - only Size 1's fit is confirmed. If your dog needs a larger size, check the specific listing or size chart before ordering.
Who it's for: owners who want an exact-fit nylon collar in raspberry rather than an adjustable one, and who know which size their dog needs.

Why we chose it
A fixed-size collar with heat-sealed buckle holes tends to sit flatter and neater than an adjustable one with a sliding buckle, which matters more on a smaller dog than a big one. Raspberry is also simply a colour Ancol's more common black and blue don't cover.
