Brand: Ancol

Full description

A dog can't tell you it's too warm, so the usual sign is that it stops wanting to play. That's exactly when a toy that's genuinely cold, rather than just brightly coloured, earns its place in the freezer.

Like the rest of the Ice Paws range, this is filled with water and frozen before use, then given to the dog as a cooling chew. This particular design is shaped like a bear.

No material specified by the makers

One thing worth knowing. There's no weight limit given for the dog using it, and no material name either, so if you have a particularly strong chewer, we can't tell you in advance how tough it is against them.

Who it's for: dogs that get restless in warm weather and would rather chew something cold than just drink more water.

Why we chose it

Bear-shaped toys sell better than plain shapes for no functional reason at all, but stocking the shape people actually pick up doesn't cost any more than stocking a plain one. Filling it yourself with tap water keeps the running cost at nothing.
