Cats like tunnels for a reason that has nothing to do with play: a tunnel is a place with two exits. A cat who feels covered but not cornered will use a space that an open bed in the middle of a room never gets used at all — which is why a tunnel earns its keep in a house with a nervous cat as much as a boisterous one.
This one is Y-shaped, with three entrances and over 1.8 metres of tunnel between them. Where the three arms meet there is a pop-up hole a cat can jump out of, which also works as somewhere to dangle a toy from when you are playing together. It is made of a crinkle material — the noise is deliberate, and it is the thing cats paw at — in a grey and pink stripe, and it folds flat when you are not using it.
