Is Pedigree good for dogs?
Pedigree is one of the most widely available and widely fed dog food brands in the UK, and 'good' depends less on the brand name than on whether a specific recipe suits your dog's size, age and any sensitivities. It is a mainstream, everyday food rather than a premium or specialist one, and for a great many dogs that is exactly what works.
What Pedigree actually is
Pedigree makes complete dry and wet foods, meaning each product is formulated to meet a dog's nutritional needs on its own without extra additions, along with a range of treats and dental chews sold alongside the main food range. It sits firmly in the mainstream, widely available part of the market rather than the premium end.
Being mainstream is not the same as being poor quality — a complete food has to meet the same basic nutritional standards whatever its price point, and Pedigree's recipes are formulated to do that. What you are generally not getting at this price point is a single named protein or a boutique ingredient list, which some owners specifically look for and others have no need of.

If your dog doesn't get on with it
As with any food, some dogs simply do not agree with a particular recipe, whatever the brand. Loose stools, itching or a dog going off their food after a change are worth watching for in the first week or two of switching.
If that happens, introduce any replacement food gradually alongside the old one rather than swapping overnight, and speak to your vet if the problem does not settle or your dog seems unwell rather than working through a string of different brands on your own.
