Fluval at Giddy Pets
Fluval doesn't operate an approved-retailer scheme, so there is no formal badge for a shop to display, us included. What we can tell you plainly is what we carry: filter media and cartridges for Fluval's canister and internal filter ranges, plus a line of fish food under the same name.
What we stock
Our Fluval range is mostly replacement filter parts, foam pads and carbon cartridges sized for specific filter models such as the U-series internal filters, alongside Fluval's own Bug Bites granule fish food for tropical and goldfish tanks. It is a practical, maintenance-focused range rather than the full catalogue of tanks and lighting the brand makes.
Because filter media is model-specific, the main job when buying is matching the part to the filter you already own rather than choosing on preference, since a foam pad or cartridge sized for one model generally will not fit another.
Getting the right part
Check the model printed on your filter itself, or on the box it came in, before ordering a replacement part, since Fluval's foam pads and cartridges are numbered per model rather than sold as one universal size. If you are not sure which model you have, a filter's dimensions and how the media sits inside it are usually enough to match it against the listing.
Replacing filter media on a schedule rather than waiting until it looks visibly dirty keeps a filter working properly, since a clogged pad restricts water flow before it becomes obviously discoloured.
Feeding alongside filtration
Fluval's Bug Bites granules come in formulas for tropical fish and for goldfish, sized and balanced differently for each, so it is worth picking the version matched to your fish rather than assuming one granule suits every tank. Overfeeding is a more common problem than underfeeding in a home aquarium, and uneaten food breaks down and adds to the load your filter has to deal with.
A well-matched filter and a sensible feeding routine work together rather than separately, since excess waste and uneaten food are exactly what a filter and its media are trying to keep on top of.

Common questions
- Is Giddy Pets an official Fluval stockist?
- Fluval doesn't run a formal stockist or approved-dealer scheme that we are aware of, so no retailer carries that kind of badge from the brand. We stock and sell the range the same way as everything else in the shop.
- How do I know which Fluval filter media I need?
- Check the model number printed on the filter itself or its original box, since Fluval's foam pads and cartridges are sized per model rather than universally. Matching the dimensions is usually enough if the model number isn't visible.
- How often should I replace Fluval filter media?
- Foam pads generally need rinsing more often than replacing outright, while carbon cartridges lose effectiveness over weeks even if they still look clean, so replacing on a rough schedule works better than waiting for visible signs.
- Does Fluval make fish food as well as filters?
- Yes, the Bug Bites granule range is Fluval's fish food line, made for tropical fish and goldfish, and it sits alongside the filter parts in our aquarium range rather than being a separate brand.
