Making mealtimes physically easier
A shallow, wide dish is easier for a stiff cat to eat from than a small deep bowl, since it doesn't require tucking the head down as far or balancing weight awkwardly on sore joints. Raising the bowl slightly on a stand can help too, for a cat who finds bending down uncomfortable.
A pet water fountain encourages more drinking for a cat who has become reluctant to walk to a static bowl, which pairs well with the extra moisture already in a wet diet. Placing a second water point somewhere your cat already spends time, rather than only by the food bowl, can make a genuine difference for a cat who has started drinking less.
