Specifications

Brand: Vitakraft

Full description

A caged bird's beak keeps growing throughout its life, and without something to wear it down against, it can overgrow to the point of causing real problems with eating. Calcium is the other half of the same problem - a bird cannot get enough of it from seed alone.

Vitakraft's Cuttlefish Bone addresses both in one product: it is a calcium source the bird pecks at, which also conditions the beak in the process of being worn down. It comes prepacked as a pair, ready to clip or wedge into the cage rather than needing any preparation.

Prepacked cuttlefish bone
Sold as a pack of 2
Provides a calcium source
Conditions the beak through natural wear

One thing worth knowing. We haven't been given a size or weight for each individual bone, so there's no measurement here to compare against your cage's fittings before it arrives.

Who it's for: owners of cage birds who want a simple, natural way to top up calcium and keep the beak in trim between vet checks.

Vitakraft Cuttlefish Bone

Why we chose it

Cuttlefish bone does two jobs at once - calcium and beak conditioning - which is more efficient than buying separate products for each. A pack of two also means a spare is ready when the first one is worn down.
