Orange colouring and carrot flavouring can do a lot of the work on a treat like this, which is exactly why it is worth checking how much actual carrot is in the recipe rather than assuming from the name.

Carrot powder and natural carrot flavouring sit inside the usual Nibblots cereal shell, over wheat flour, canola oil and corn starch, with the vegetable content specifically stated at 4%. It is a Complementary Pet Food, meant as a between-meals treat.

• Vegetable content 4% (carrot)
• Protein 12.6%, crude fibres 3%, crude oils and fats 22.4%, crude ash 2.2%, moisture 12.2%
• Omega-3 and omega-6 combined 4.4%
• Hamsters and mice 1 a day, rats 1-2, guinea pigs and gerbils up to 2, rabbits up to 5
• 30G pack

On the carrot content. Carrot gives the name and the flavour, but it is 4% of the recipe — the base is the same wheat flour, oil and corn starch used across every Nibblots flavour. This is a carrot-flavoured treat rather than a carrot-based one.

Who it's for: owners of rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils or rats after a carrot-flavoured option within a routine that already uses portion-controlled treats.
