A rabbit left to graze naturally would spend most of its day doing exactly that, which is the argument for hay being available at all times rather than measured out like a meal.

This is Timothy hay, UK-grown and hand-packed, with nothing else added. Selective's own guidance is that it should always be provided in unlimited amounts, and that a rabbit will typically eat a volume of hay roughly equivalent to its own body size in a day — a useful rule of thumb precisely because it's measured in volume, not weight. It analyses at 6.0% crude protein, 34.0% crude fibre, 1.5% fat and 6.0% ash.

• Timothy hay, single ingredient

• Crude protein 6.0%, fat 1.5%
• Fed unlimited, available at all times
• 400G bag

On judging quantity. Selective measure this in volume rather than weight — a ball of hay roughly the size of the rabbit itself, daily — which is a genuinely useful way to judge quantity without weighing anything out, but it does mean the 400G bag figure alone won't tell you how long it lasts.

Who it's for: owners of a rabbit or other hay-eating small animal who want a straightforward, single-ingredient hay for everyday unlimited feeding.
