"Dental" on a small-animal treat usually describes a crunchy texture rather than a tested outcome, and the fat content here is the number worth checking before assuming that texture is the only thing it's doing.

It's built from wheat flour, canola oil, corn starch and wheat gluten, with pomegranate powder (0.5%, hydrated to 5%), glycerine, vitamin C, rosemary extract oil, coconut oil, clove oil, vitamin E, eucalyptus oil and vitamins A and D3.

• Pomegranate powder 0.5% (hydrated to 5%)
• Protein 13.8%, crude fibre 4.9%, fat 27%, crude ash 1.7%, moisture 7.5%, omega 5.2%
• 4.5 kcal per treat
• Feeding limits vary by species: 1 a day for hamsters and mice, 1–2 for rats, 2 for guinea pigs and gerbils, 2–4 for rabbits
• Classed as a complementary treat
• 30G pack

On fat content. At 27% fat, this is a rich treat for its size — 4.5 kcal per piece — so the species-specific feeding limits, as low as one treat a day for a hamster or mouse, matter more here than on a leaner snack.

Who it's for: owners of hamsters, mice, rats, guinea pigs, gerbils or rabbits wanting an occasional dental-support treat, fed to the species-specific daily limit.
