A dog that shreds cushions on a wet afternoon is usually not being naughty; it is a dog with an unspent chase drive and nowhere to put it. This toy is built around that instinct. It moves, it invites pursuit, and it gives a restless dog something to stalk and pounce on that is not the sofa. Ten minutes of that does more for a bored dog than an hour of being told off.

Chase play works differently from chewing. It asks a dog to track movement, judge distance and commit, which tires the brain as well as the legs, and that is why a short burst of it settles a dog so effectively. The toy is made to take spirited handling rather than gentle mouthing, and it works indoors on a rainy day or out in the garden when there is space to run properly.

• Interactive chase toy for dogs
• Taps the natural stalk-and-pounce instinct
• Built to take spirited, repeated play
• Works indoors or in the garden
• Provides mental enrichment alongside physical exercise
• Suits high-energy breeds and dogs left alone for short spells

One thing worth knowing. No toy is indestructible, and none should be left with an unsupervised dog who dismantles things for sport.

Who it's for: Owners of high-energy or easily bored dogs who need an active outlet at home and would rather redirect that energy than punish it.
