Product description

A determined chewer gets through a soft treat in minutes and is looking for the next thing before the packet is even away, which is really the market a hard bone chew like this is aimed at - something that takes real, sustained effort rather than a quick reward. T. Forrest's knuckle bone is roasted rather than raw, and made from a single named ingredient.

The composition is 100% British beef, with no grains or other ingredients added. Protein comes out at 27.5% and oil at 5.7%. The ash figure is notably high at 62.4%, which is normal for a bone chew - bone itself is largely mineral, and that shows up as ash on an analysis panel in a way it would not on a meat-only treat. T. Forrest's own guidance is to always supervise a dog with this chew and to keep fresh water available alongside it.

100% British beef, no grains added
Protein 27.5%, oil 5.7%
Ash 62.4% (typical for a bone chew, reflecting mineral content)
Roasted rather than raw
Sold individually: one bone per item

On why this isn't for every dog. A hard roasted bone is meant for an experienced, confident chewer working slowly at it, not a puppy or a dog that swallows large pieces rather than gnawing them down - and T. Forrest's own instruction to always supervise reflects that. If your dog is a gulper rather than a chewer, this is not the right treat.

Who it's for: owners of a medium to large dog with a strong, established chewing habit, who want something that lasts rather than a treat gone in seconds.

Why we chose it

A single-ingredient beef bone with nothing else in it is a rarer thing on this shelf than the marketing on most dog chews suggests, and that simplicity is the reason to stock it. It is also genuinely long-lasting for the right dog, which is worth more than a cheaper treat that is gone the same afternoon.
