A small animal on a good hay-based diet can still end up with a dull or flaky coat, and topping the diet up with a targeted supplement is usually easier than trying to rebalance the whole feeding routine to fix it.

This is Supreme Science Selective's Skin & Coat supplement, made from wheat flour, ground timothy hay, ground dried locust beans, ground spinach, flaxseeds, soybean oil, ground peas and calcium L-ascorbyl-2-monophosphate as a source of vitamin C. Crude protein is a minimum 8.0%, crude fat a minimum 2.0%, crude fibre a maximum 12.0% and moisture a maximum 10.0%.

• 100g pack

On feeding amounts. Supreme Science do not give a daily quantity for this supplement, only that it is fed alongside the regular diet, so how much to offer is left to your own judgement rather than a stated gram figure. It is a complementary product and is not meant to replace hay, fresh food or a complete pellet feed.

Who it's for: owners of a rabbit, guinea pig or chinchilla whose coat looks like it needs a lift, who want a targeted add-on rather than switching the whole diet.
