The maker calls this a skirt style, and that is the thing to know before ordering. The back is cut longer and fuller than a plain jumper, so it flares out over the hips instead of finishing straight at the waist. It suits a small dog or cat with a neat, compact frame. On a long-backed animal such as a Dachshund the flare lands in the wrong place and the whole thing looks borrowed.

It is knitted wool with a turtleneck collar and a printed maple leaf and snowflake pattern, made in red and navy. Wool is warmer for its weight than the acrylic most pet knitwear uses, but it wants hand-washing in cool water and drying flat: a warm machine cycle will felt it down a size or two and there is no way back from that. Indoor and dry-walk warmth, not weatherproofing.
