Letting a dog range further than a lead allows, without it having the run of an unfenced garden, is the specific gap a tie-out fills — not a replacement for supervision, but a way to give a dog more room to move while you are out there with it.
Smart Choice's Tie Out Cable & Stake pairs a strong stainless steel spiral stake, 42cm long, with a 5 metre weather-resistant, PVC-coated cable designed to resist tangling. The stake screws into the ground, and a D-ring clip on the cable attaches to your dog's collar. It is rated to a maximum weight of 40kg, and is available in red or grey.
