Full description
A tracker on a collar is not really a tracking system. It is a way of finding a cat who has shut himself in a neighbour's shed, or working out which field a dog headed for after slipping the lead. Bluetooth tags work by pinging every passing Apple device, which in a town means a great many of them and on an open moor means none at all. Know which of those you live in.
This tag pairs through Apple's Find My network and comes with a lanyard for clipping onto a collar or harness. It is rated IP65 for water and dust, which covers rain and wet grass rather than a swim, and it runs on a replaceable battery rather than a sealed one, so a year of standby ends in a coin cell rather than a new tag. It is slim and light enough not to swing about on a small dog's collar.
