Halfway round a hot walk, the useful thing is not a clever water bottle but something to pour it into. This bowl squashes down to roughly the thickness of a coaster, clips to a lead or a rucksack strap by its rope loop, and springs back into shape when you need it. It weighs about as much as a phone case, so it comes along on walks where a rigid bowl would have been left at home.

The body is food-grade silicone with an ABS rim, and the rim does the real work here: silicone alone would sag and slop water down your leg, while the harder ring holds the mouth open and keeps the shape once it is filled. On capacity. This comes in one size only, despite older listings suggesting a choice of sizes. At 11.5cm across and 4cm deep it is a drink-stop bowl for a small or medium dog, not a dinner bowl for a labrador. A big dog will empty it and want it refilled, which is fine on a walk with a bottle in the bag and much less fine as a travel feeding bowl.
