Full description
A dog that retrieves properly gets bored of a throw long before the person doing the throwing does, and the honest fix for that is distance rather than a new toy. A ball thrower exists purely to add the metres an arm cannot.
This is Ruff 'N' Tumble's Serve 'N' Sling, a retractable launcher made by Sharples Pet that extends to send a ball further than a bare-handed throw. It cradles a standard ball at the end and folds back down for carrying.
- Retractable ball thrower
- Extends to increase throwing distance
- Part of the Ruff 'N' Tumble range by Sharples Pet
- Packed weight 0.38kg
- Suits chase-and-retrieve games
On sizing. We have no confirmed extended length, ball size compatibility, or material breakdown for the handle — the maker tells us what it does, not the specifics of how it is built. If you already own balls you want to use with it, we cannot confirm they will fit before you order.
Who it's for: owners of a retrieve-mad dog who are tired of their own arm being the limiting factor on a walk.

Why we chose it
It is a retractable design rather than a fixed-length scoop, which matters if you are carrying it any distance to the park. Retrieve games wear an arm out long before they wear a dog out, and this is the cheap fix for that.
