Full description
A rubber chew that splits the first time a dog really bites down on it doesn't last long enough to be worth the price, which is the specific problem a "self-healing" material is meant to solve.
This is Ruff 'N' Tumble's Gum'Y' Stick, 28cm long, made from a quality TPR "self heal" rubber, with an irregular textured surface and ridges designed to massage teeth and gums as the dog chews, and an internal safety squeaker.
- 28cm long
- Self-healing TPR rubber construction
- Irregular texture and ridges for gum massage
- Internal safety squeaker
- Suited to play, retrieve and chewing
On the claim: "self heal" is Sharples Pet's own description of the rubber rather than a guarantee against damage, so it's still worth checking any chew periodically for wear, the same as any other rubber or TPR toy.
Who it's for: dogs that chew as much as they play fetch, and owners who want one toy that covers both.

Why we chose it
A self-healing rubber is a genuinely different proposition to a standard TPR chew that just splits and gets binned, and the squeaker adds a reason to fetch it as well as chew it. At 28cm it's a decent size for retrieve games as well as solo chewing.
