Size guide & how to measure

A good bed lets your pet stretch out and curl up. Measure your pet nose-to-tail while they’re lying down, then add room to move.

How to measure

Measure your pet from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.
For pets that like to curl, you can size down slightly for a snug, den-like feel.

Size	Typical internal length	Rough guide
S	up to ~50 cm	Cats, toy & small breeds
M	~50–70 cm	Small–medium dogs
L	~70–90 cm	Medium–large dogs
XL	90 cm +	Large & giant breeds

Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact dimensions.

Full description

Incontinence, a difficult recovery or a puppy still learning all tend to end in the same place: a ruined mattress, or a sofa cushion that never quite smells right again. A washable pad under the dog solves that at the point it happens, catching the accident before it reaches anything you cannot put through a machine, and without the plastic crackle of a disposable sheet.

Two layers are doing two separate jobs here. The quilted top wicks moisture away from the surface quickly, so your pet is not lying in it while it soaks through, and the waterproof backing stops anything reaching the mattress, floor or car seat beneath. Quilting also holds the absorbent filling evenly spread instead of letting it migrate into one corner after a few washes, which is what shortens the life of cheaper pads.

80 x 120cm
Quilted absorbent top layer
Waterproof backing
Fully machine washable and reusable
Low profile, so it lies flat under a settled pet
Suits beds, crates, sofas and car seats

On drying, and on what a pad will not fix. Line dry rather than tumble dry. Heat is what breaks down waterproof backing, and a pad that has been through a hot dryer a few times starts letting moisture past. A pad also manages the mess rather than the cause: new or worsening incontinence in an adult dog is worth a vet visit, because urinary infections and other treatable things present exactly this way.

Who it's for: Owners of senior dogs, post-operative patients or new puppies who want to stop replacing bedding and stop buying disposables.

Why we chose it

Two layers doing two jobs: an absorbent top that pulls moisture down and a waterproof backing that stops it reaching the mattress. No plastic crackle, which is why some dogs lie on this and not a disposable. Sudden accidents want a vet.
