Anyone who has house-trained a puppy knows the disposable pad routine: a bin bag filling up faster than the puppy learns, and a floor that still ends up wet whenever a pad shifts. A washable quilted pad changes the economics of that. The quilted top layer draws liquid away from the surface, and a waterproof backing keeps it off the floor underneath rather than letting it soak through at the edges.
The reason to bother with the washable version is that it goes in the machine and comes back, so one purchase covers the weeks or months of training rather than one week of it. It is also useful well beyond house-training: under the bed of an older dog with a weak bladder, in a crate, in the boot of the car, or in a cat carrier for a long journey. Several colours and sizes are offered.
