How to measure
- Neck: measure right around the base of the neck where a collar sits.
- Chest: measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
- Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

Full description
Big dogs are not automatically warm dogs. A greyhound, a boxer or an ageing labrador can be shivering on a walk while a small terrier trots along perfectly content, and most winter coats stop at a size that assumes otherwise. This one starts at XL and runs all the way to 6XL, which is the first reason to look at it: it is cut for the dogs the rest of the market quietly forgets about.
The construction is a waterproof polyester outer over thick PP cotton wadding, with a soft lining against the dog. The outer turns wind and light rain while the wadding is what actually holds the heat in. A D-ring on the back takes a lead directly, so you are not threading a clip under a coat to reach a harness in the rain. It pulls on over the back and fastens quickly, and a separate liner is offered for milder days.

Two things worth knowing. Despite the polar fleece name, the specification lists a waterproof polyester shell with PP cotton wadding, so this is a padded winter coat rather than a plain fleece jumper: warmer, but bulkier than the name suggests. And there is nothing below XL here, so small and medium dogs are not catered for.
