A treat named after peanut butter sets an expectation before anyone's read the ingredients, and it's worth checking that expectation against the label before buying a 10kg box of anything.

These are wheat-free biscuit treats shaped like a dog's paw, made from maize flour, ground oats, poultry meal, potato starch, poultry fat, ground linseed and chicken gravy, with cellulose fibre and a peanut butter flavouring at 0.3%. They carry protein at 15%, crude fibre at 4%, fat content at 10% and crude ash at 3%, with no artificial colours or flavours beyond that named one.

• 10KG box of paw-shaped biscuit treats
• Wheat free
• Peanut butter flavouring at 0.3% - the only peanut-related ingredient
• Protein 15%, crude fibre 4%, fat content 10%, crude ash 3%
• Protein comes from poultry meal and chicken gravy
• No artificial colours or flavours

On the name. "Peanut Butter Paw" is a flavouring claim, not an ingredient one - the composition contains no peanut butter or peanuts, only a 0.3% peanut butter flavouring, and the actual protein source is poultry meal and chicken gravy. It's wheat-free, not grain-free: maize flour is in the ingredient list.

Who it's for: anyone buying in bulk for a dog that likes the peanut butter smell and flavour, who understands it's a flavouring rather than a real peanut butter treat - and isn't avoiding grains generally, since maize is present.
