Collars are sized by the neck girth — the measurement around the base of the neck where the collar will sit.
How to measure
- Wrap a soft tape around the base of the neck.
- Add room for two fingers between the tape and the neck.
- Use that measurement to pick a size whose range it falls within.
| Size | Typical neck girth | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 20–28 cm | Toy breeds, kittens |
| S | 26–36 cm | Small dogs |
| M | 34–48 cm | Medium dogs |
| L | 46–60 cm | Large dogs |
| XL | 58–72 cm | Giant breeds |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact measurements.

Full description
The rigid plastic cone from the vet works, and almost every animal hates it: they crash into door frames, cannot find the water bowl, and spend the first night awake. A padded fabric collar in breathable Oxford cloth solves most of that, holding enough shape to keep a mouth away from stitches while staying soft enough to sleep against. Recovery goes better when the animal actually rests.
It fastens with an adjustable buckle, so you can set it snug at the neck without it choking, and the smooth edges avoid the rubbing that a hard plastic rim causes behind the ears. Single-layer and double-layer versions are offered: the double layer is stiffer and stands up better to a determined dog, while the single is lighter and less imposing for cats and smaller pets. Eating, drinking and resting all remain possible while it is on.
- Breathable Oxford fabric with padding
- Adjustable buckle fastening
- Single-layer and double-layer options
- Sizes M, L and XL
- Smooth edges to reduce rubbing
- Listed weight 140g to 300g depending on size
Be honest with yourself about your pet. A soft collar is more comfortable, but it is also easier to defeat. A flexible one may still let a determined animal reach a paw, a tail base or a low belly wound, and if your vet has specifically asked for a rigid cone after this particular surgery, follow that. Check the wound twice daily for the first few days whichever collar you choose.
What the options mean. Sizes run from M to XL — £11.99 for the smallest, £15.99 for the largest.
Who it's for: Cats and dogs recovering from routine spays, neuters and minor procedures, or worrying at a hotspot, who cannot settle in a rigid cone.
