The two shapes, and which is which
The £10.99 bowls are the squared-off shape: a shallow square dish with rounded corners and a coloured floating disc in the middle. The £12.99 upgraded bowls are the round one: a low dome with scalloped finger recesses moulded around the side so it is easier to lift and carry, and a textured ring around the centre disc. Both work the same way — the disc floats on the surface and stops water sloshing out as your pet drinks or as you move the bowl.

Full description
Long ears, flat faces and enthusiastic lapping all end the same way, with a wet chest and a puddle spreading out around the bowl. A floating disc sitting on the surface fixes that mechanically. The disc rises and falls with the water level, the tongue reaches through the gap, and the wave that would have sloshed over the rim gets held back underneath the plate instead.
The main version holds a maximum of 250ml in a bowl 17.4cm across and 5.7cm high, with a floating disc of around 4.1cm, and the whole thing weighs 318g, which is heavy enough for its size that a nudge from a paw does not send it skidding across a kitchen floor. It is a straight swap for an ordinary bowl at home and steady enough to use in a car footwell. Ten colour combinations are listed.
