Prey animals settle better when they have somewhere to disappear to, and an open hutch offers nowhere. A handwoven seagrass tent gives a rabbit or guinea pig a dark, close-sided corner to retreat into, which does more for a nervous small pet than almost anything else you can add to their space. It folds flat when it is not in use, so it stores easily or travels with them.

The whole thing is woven by hand from natural seagrass, with no plastic shell and no painted finish, which matters because small pets chew whatever shares their enclosure. Here that is the point rather than a problem: the grass is edible, so nibbling at the walls counts as safe enrichment and helps wear down teeth that never stop growing. The triangular shape holds itself open without a frame, and it is light enough to move between a hutch, a run and an indoor pen.

• Handwoven from natural seagrass
• Edible, so chewing it is safe enrichment
• Triangular hideaway for burrowing and resting
• Folds flat for storage
• Light enough to move between hutch, cage and run
• No plastic, paint or added coating

It is a consumable, not furniture. A keen chewer will eat their way through a grass hut over weeks rather than years, and that is the trade for a hideaway safe to gnaw on. Check it over regularly and replace it once it is thin or frayed.

Who it's for: Rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets who need somewhere to hide, and owners looking for enrichment that is safe to eat.
