Some dogs leave a version of themselves on every cushion in the house, and a four-leg suit is one of the few things that genuinely reduces it. These cotton pyjamas cover the body and all four legs, so loose hair stays inside the fabric instead of on the sofa. It is not a cure for shedding, but it does turn a daily hoovering job into a weekly wash.

Cotton is the right choice here because this is indoor clothing. It breathes, so a dog dozing by a radiator does not overheat in it the way they would in fleece, and it washes and dries without fuss, which matters a great deal for a garment that collects hair by design. The full-leg cut also gives a thin-coated or freshly clipped dog a bit of warmth around the house without the bulk of a coat. Prints run to bananas, doughnuts, footballs, ducklings and little mice.

• Helps keep shed hair off furniture and bedding
• Washes and dries easily for regular use
• Prints include bananas, doughnuts, footballs and ducklings
• Sizes from S through to XXL

On sizing: the letter on the label means very little between brands. Measure your dog's back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, and the chest girth at its widest point behind the front legs, then compare against the chart rather than guessing from weight. A four-leg garment is far less forgiving than a jumper, and one cut too short pulls at the shoulders.

Who it's for: owners of small dogs who are losing the battle with hair on the sofa, and dogs who genuinely settle better with a layer on.
