Most of the work of keeping rabbits or guinea pigs outdoors is cleaning, and this hutch is designed around that fact. There are entrances on several sides, the roof lifts open, the side room has its own window, and a tray pulls straight out from the base — so a full clean does not mean dismantling anything or crawling in after a corner you cannot reach.

The construction is solid fir throughout, finished with water-resistant paint, and topped with a tilted asphalt roof that sheds rain instead of letting it stand. That tilt does more than it appears to: standing water is what rots a hutch roof, and UV is what fades and cracks it, and the roof here is built against both. A ramp links the upper house to the run below, so they can move between sleeping and stretching without help.

• Overall 150cm long x 52.5cm wide x 68cm high
• Main house 71.8 x 44 x 42.5cm; side room 75 x 44 x 53cm; bottom run 71.8 x 44 x 25.7cm
• 100% solid fir with water-resistant paint
• Tilted asphalt roof, built to shed water and resist UV
• Openable roof, side window, latching door, pull-out tray
• Ramp between the two levels; assembly required

On sizing: at 150cm long this is a comfortable home for guinea pigs, and a sound sheltered base for a pair of small rabbits who also get daily time in a run. Rabbits need more floor than any hutch this size offers on its own — treat it as their bedroom, not their whole house.

Who it's for: Owners keeping guinea pigs or small rabbits outdoors year-round who want something that cleans quickly and survives more than one winter.
