The chews that hold up longest against a genuinely committed chewer tend to be the least processed ones, and a whole deer leg is about as unprocessed as a chew gets.

Paddock Farm's Hairy Deer Legs are a single natural ingredient, aimed at larger dogs and aggressive chewers specifically. They are high in protein, which supports muscle and tissue repair, and high in collagen for coat and skin condition, alongside glucosamine and chondroitin, which the maker associates with joint health. Deer leg bone is also a natural source of calcium and phosphorus, and chewing on it gives teeth and gums the same exercise as any dental chew.

One thing worth knowing. No analytical percentage breakdown, weight or minimum age is published for this listing, so there is no protein or fat figure to quote and nothing stating a suitable age. As a hairy chew, expect a stronger natural smell and some shedding of hair as your dog works on it — that is normal for this style of product rather than a fault.

Who it's for: owners of a large or particularly determined chewer looking for a genuinely long-lasting natural option, rather than a treat gone in minutes.
