A kitten's whole world is still mouth-sized at eight weeks old, which is why texture does as much work as flavour - a food has to be soft enough to eat properly before it can matter how good it tastes.

This is Naturo's Kitten Chicken Pate: a smooth pate made mainly from chicken (50%) and chicken liver (20%), with chicken broth, minerals and a handful of trace additions including salmon oil and dried blueberry and cranberry. It's a complete food for kittens from 8 weeks of age, and it's grain-free.

• Chicken 50%, Chicken Liver 20%, Chicken Broth 10%
• Protein 10.5%, Fat 8.5%, Fibre 0.5%, Ash 3.5%
• 113Kcal per 100g
• Complete food for kittens from 8 weeks
• Grain-free recipe
• 12 x 85g pouches

On the trace ingredients. Salmon oil, dried blueberry, dried cranberry and yucca powder are all in the recipe at 0.1% or less, so they're there in trace amounts rather than as a significant part of what your kitten is eating - the bulk of this food is chicken, chicken liver and chicken broth, worth knowing if you were expecting a fish or berry-forward recipe from the ingredient list.

Who it's for: kittens from 8 weeks old moving onto a complete wet food, and owners who want a grain-free recipe without needing to mix it with anything else.
