Mr Johnson's Advance Guinea Pig

Selective eating makes a bowl difficult to assess when the animal can leave one part of a mixture and finish another. A single-component food removes that particular choice.

Mr Johnson's Advance Guinea Pig is a 1.5KG complementary food. Wheatfeed, alfalfa, barley and oatfeed come first in the composition, followed by soya bean meal, sunflower seed meal, vegetable oil and fat, carrot, calcium carbonate, sodium chloride, Verm-X herb blend, Bio-Mos, glucosamine and De-odorase. The analytical panel gives 18% protein, 13% fibre, 4% oils and fats and 6% ash. It also declares calcium at 0.80%, sodium at 0.15% and phosphorus at 0.40%, with vitamins and trace elements listed separately.

Portions change with condition. The guide gives up to 55g per day for young or growing guinea pigs, up to 50g for adult maintenance and up to 55g for lactating guinea pigs. It is not the whole diet: unlimited good-quality hay, a small amount of fresh greens each day and fresh water at all times remain part of the manufacturer's directions.
