Thick-coated breeds don't shed evenly through the year, so a rake built to thin a packed undercoat is doing a very different job to a slicker meant for daily maintenance.

This rake has rounded-tip stainless steel teeth that reach skin-deep without scratching, designed specifically to remove dead hair and thin the undercoat on double and thick-coated breeds without damaging the top coat over it. Mikki's method is gentle pressure while running it through the coat, sawing back and forth to loosen tangles in the undercoat specifically. It's ergonomically designed to reduce brushing fatigue, and this is the thick-coat (THK) size.
