Leads are chosen by length and width rather than your pet’s body size. Pick the width to suit your pet’s strength and the length to suit how you walk.
How to measure
- Width: lighter, narrower webbing for small dogs; wider, thicker webbing for strong pullers and larger dogs.
- Standard lead (1.2–1.5 m): everyday pavement walks and training.
- Long line (3–10 m): recall practice and open spaces.
- Short / traffic lead (under 1 m): close control in busy areas.
| Length | Best for |
|---|---|
| Under 1 m | Traffic / close control |
| 1.2–1.5 m | Everyday walks (most popular) |
| 1.8–2 m | Relaxed walks, more freedom |
| 3 m + | Recall training, open spaces |
Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact length and width.

Full description
Two things go wrong with jumpers on long-backed dogs. The first is that most are cut for a compact, square-shouldered shape, so on a dachshund or a long crossbreed they ride forward and leave the loins bare, which is exactly the stretch of back that needed covering. The second is the lead: on a jumper with no opening you either clip to a collar you did not want to use or peel the whole thing off at the door.
This one addresses both. It is cut long through the body, and there is a built-in hole through the shoulders so a harness clip comes through the fabric and the harness itself stays on underneath, which is safer than switching a puller to a collar and much quicker on a cold morning. The denim outer takes the scuffing of a low-slung dog brushing walls and hedges, whilst the lamb wool lining stays soft against skin and clipped coats.
- Denim outer with lamb wool lining
- Built-in lead hole for a harness clip
- Collared neck and striped design
- Black, pink or blue
- Sizes XS to XXL
- Supplied as one jumper
On sizing, and on what this is. The manufacturer publishes no size chart at all for this jumper, not a single measurement, so do not order by breed name. And be clear that this is warmth rather than weather: denim and wool soak up rain and stay wet, so it is for cold dry days and chilly houses, not a replacement for a waterproof.
Who it's for: dachshunds, teddy bear and toy poodles, yorkshire terriers, long-bodied crossbreeds, and any dog who walks in a harness and objects to being dressed at the front door.

Why we chose it
Cut long through the body, because most jumpers ride forward on a dachshund and leave the loins bare. There's a hole through the shoulders for a harness clip, so you're not switching a puller onto a collar at the door.
