Full description
A dog scratching at one patch of skin is telling you something specific, even if it can't tell you what, and a targeted ointment does a different job from a full-body shampoo.
Lillidale's Skin Ointment combines calamine, sulphur and coal tar in an ointment base. It's intended for use on dogs prone to localised itching and skin irritation, and Lillidale describe it as aiding the natural repair of problems associated with dry, flaky skin.
- Contains calamine, sulphur and coal tar solution
- Ointment base
- For localised itching and skin irritation
- Aimed at dry, flaky skin problems
- 125G pot
One thing worth knowing. This is an ointment for minor, localised skin irritation, not a diagnosis or a treatment for an infection, a wound, or a condition that's spreading or getting worse — those need a vet, and Lillidale give no application frequency or duration on our source.
Who it's for: owners of dogs with an occasional dry or itchy patch of skin wanting a targeted ointment, rather than a whole-coat shampoo, for spot treatment.

Why we chose it
A named, specific ingredient list — calamine, sulphur, coal tar — is more useful to know than a vague, unnamed soothing claim on the tub, which is why it's worth stocking over an unlabelled alternative. A 125g pot is also small enough to keep as a first-aid drawer item rather than a full-size product you're committed to using up.
