A wild tortoise rarely eats the same plant two days running if it has a choice, and putting a cucumber-flavoured tub next to a banana one in the same range is Komodo's way of giving a keeper that same variety without foraging for it.

This is a complete holistic diet made without artificial additives, preservatives, flavours or colours, formulated with a calcium to phosphorus ratio of 3.5:1. Komodo describe it as high in fibre, and it can be fed either dry or with a little water added to bring the flavour out. This 170g tub sits at the small end of a range that also runs to 340g, 680g and 2kg.

• Complete diet, not a supplement or treat
• No artificial additives, preservatives, flavours or colours
• Calcium to phosphorus ratio 3.5:1
• Can be fed dry or with water added
• 170G tub, part of a 170g-2kg range

On the fibre claim. Komodo describe the diet as high in fibre without giving an actual percentage figure, so it can't be checked against a specific target. The calcium to phosphorus ratio is the one hard number on this label, and it's a strong one for a tortoise diet.

Who it's for: tortoise keepers rotating flavours to keep a fussy eater interested, particularly alongside the same range's other tubs.
