Getting prey size right matters more than most other feeding decisions for a reptile, since undersized prey means underfeeding and oversized prey is a genuine choking risk rather than just an inefficiency.

As with any frozen feeder, thorough defrosting is required before use: naturally, at room temperature on newspaper or kitchen towel, never in warm water or a microwave.
