Disposing of cat litter is a genuine environmental question for anyone paying attention to it, and a clay-based litter that never breaks down is a different proposition entirely to one made from wood that can go in organic waste. Kittyfriend Wood is built around that difference from the ground up.

It is made from 100% natural, biodegradable, FSC-certified wood pellets rather than mined clay. Sanicat's own care guidance is to fill the tray with a 2cm layer, remove solid waste regularly, and wash the tray with warm water and soap before refilling with a fresh 2cm layer - and, as with any cat litter, to wash your hands after use, keep it away from children, and never flush it.
